If you do not know, O fairest among women, Follow in the footsteps of the flock, And feed your little goats Beside the shepherds’ tents.
The Holy Spirit speaks to the searching heart. In tenderness He speaks; affirming the beauty God sees when He looks at us. He highlights the way to go; step by step His word is a lamp at our feet. He draws us from the fringes of the church into the depths of of community. He calls us to come and learn from the shepherds, the leaders in the church. As we submit to authority and to the fellowship of the body, we discover Jesus. There are no lone rangers in the family of God, nor is anyone above submitting to authority that honors the word of God. This is the way we approach Jesus, as one body. This is His desire, His design, and His command. As we press into the secret place, we must equally press into community.
